Mayor Garcetti and Transportation Leaders Reveal Top 5 Ways Transportation is Transforming California

WHAT:

Media availability for one-on-one Q&A with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, key legislators and transportation experts at the Mobility 21 Summit. Mayor Garcetti and speakers will provide insight into the innovations and solutions that are being developed and implemented throughout Southern California.

During the day-long Summit, more than 1,200 transportation experts and professionals will come together to seek strategies for developing transformative and regionally connected solutions to reduce time spent in traffic and increase mobility options.

WHY:

Mobility 21 is a transportation coalition of 10,000 public and private sector members throughout Southern California. For the past 16 years, Mobility 21 has demonstrated regional coordination and the power of collaboration. While progress has been made to improve regional mobility options, much more needs to be done to ensure Southern California’s mobility, quality of life and economic growth.

NOTE:

Prior to the media availability, Mayor Garcetti will speak at the Chairman’s Roundtable, between 10:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. with Chairs of regional transportation agencies from Southern California. He will also receive a “Public Sector Leader of the Year Award” for his efforts in the successful passage of the Measure M initiative and speak during the luncheon session between 12:00 p.m. and 12:20 p.m. Media is invited to attend the entire conference and learn about possible solutions to the region’s transportation challenges, including: impact of state and federal funding trends, express lanes, connecting transit to aviation, MicroTransit and autonomous and connected vehicles.
