Join us as the Chairs of our transportation agencies convene and help us move California forward into a more promising future. Moderator Panelists Hon. Art Bishop (confirmed) Hon. Mark A. Murphy (confirmed) Hon. Ara J. Najarian (confirmed) Hon. V. Manuel Perez (confirmed) Hon. Tony Trembley (confirmed) AM 2: Transportation Investment Equity for More Than 22 Million Sponsored by CALinfra Magic Kingdom 2 The State of California has led the nation with innovative approaches to transportation development, balancing local and state efforts, funding, and regulatory requirements for our regional and state-wide needs. But striking a balance for more than 22 million constituents in Southern California is no easy task. Our distinguished panel brings together key leaders from our elected leadership, state, public sector and private sector to discuss their priorities and efforts to advance transportation solutions and how we can better and more equitably create the balance needed in our infrastructure programs for today and into the future. Moderator Maria S. Salinas (confirmed) Panelists Lee Ann Eager (confirmed) Hon. Josh Newman (confirmed) Toks Omishakin (confirmed) Eric Sauer (confirmed) AM 3: Post Pandemic Transit: Can We Close the Gap? Sponsored by HaydenAI Magic Kingdom 3 2020 and 2021 saw unprecedented drops in transit ridership. As we forge ahead to get past the pandemic, the decline in ridership is still a formidable challenge. With a pressing need to meet state climate goals, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide equitable mobility solutions, how do we convince Southern Californians to give up their vehicles and utilize transit options? How can we make transit competitive, safe and equitable for all current and future users throughout our diverse region? Join our transportation leaders as they discuss their priorities, strategies and obstacles as they work to close the transit gap. Moderator Brian Taylor (confirmed) Panelists Conan Cheung (confirmed) Johnny Dunning Jr. (confirmed) Art Guzzetti (confirmed) Darren Kettle (confirmed) Michael Pimentel (confirmed) AM 4: Our Nation’s Ports: Course Correction Sponsored by Southern California Association of Governments Magic Kingdom 4 For more than two years now, the COVID-19-induced global supply chain crisis has put Southern California’s ports under an intense public and media spotlight. As the ports of Hueneme, Los Angeles and Long Beach are doing what they can to help supply chain stakeholders move cargo more efficiently and predictively through our nation’s largest region for ocean trade, a new wave of unprecedented challenges is building. Our Port CEOs and leadership from CalSTA will discuss the rapid-pace infrastructure development hurdles and opportunities facing goods movement through our ports in the months and years ahead. Moderator Fran Inman (confirmed) Panelists Avital Barnea (confirmed) Mario Cordero (confirmed) Kristin Decas (confirmed) Gene Seroka (confirmed) 12:00 PM – 1:15 PM Sponsored by Parsons and Skanska Welcome Remarks Stephanie N. Wiggins (confirmed) Transportation Update Hon. Eric Garcetti (confirmed) Hon. Lena Gonzalez (confirmed) Presentation of 2022 Mobility 21 Awards Leadership in Equity Award Lifetime Achievement Award John Standiford Public Sector Leader of the Year Private Sector Leader of the Year Keynote Speaker Sponsored by Southwest Carpenters Union and The Lane Construction Corporation This year’s Summit theme “Future Forward” speaks to personal resiliency, overcoming the odds and transforming oneself and in turn our ‘team’ and communities for a better future. Joining us is NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame Running Back, Los Angeles Rams, Eric Dickerson who will share his personal experiences as we look to inspire each other and create a better California together. Eric Dickerson Eric Dickerson was selected second overall in the 1983 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. An immediate success, he established rookie records for most rushing attempts (390), most rushing yards gained (1,808) and most touchdowns rushing (18), including another two receiving touchdowns. His efforts earned him All-Pro, Pro Bowl, Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors. In his second season, Eric continued his onslaught on the NFL record book becoming a member of the 2,000 rushing yards club. Twelve times in 1984 he gained more than 100 yards rushing, breaking the record of 100-yard games in a season held by O.J. Simpson. His 2,105 total yards rushing beat Simpson’s 1973 NFL season record of 2,003 yards. No one has since rushed for more yards in a single NFL season. Eric retired from the NFL as the second leading rusher of all-time and in 1999 he was selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Eric was inducted into the College Hall of Fame for Southern Methodist University last year. Eric currently works for the Los Angeles Rams & iHeart Radio. 1:15 PM – 1:30 PM 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM PM 1: Finding A Way Forward: Local, State and Federal Imperatives Sponsored by TYLin Magic Kingdom 1 Safe travel for our communities as they go each day from point A to point B, diligent stewardship of our environment, and designing and implementing effective mobility options, while finding the money from local, state and federal sources. The punch list for our local and regional transportation agencies can be a never-ending, demanding responsibility. And then let’s throw an on-going pandemic for nearly 2.5 years, making the way forward seem that much more difficult to envision. Yet, the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) and our regional transportation agencies are working tirelessly to find a way forward to elevate and make substantive improvements to California’s transportation infrastructure. Our transportation leaders will convene to discuss the difficulties they encounter and the solutions they are developing to help find a positive way forward for Southern California. Moderator Stephen Finnegan (confirmed) Panelists Kome Ajise (confirmed) Martin Erickson (confirmed) Anne Mayer (confirmed) Dr. Raymond Wolfe (confirmed) PM 2: Workforce Equity: Culture Shock Sponsored by Gannett Fleming Inc. Magic Kingdom 2 The transportation industry has been a cornerstone of our economy and a jobs generator. Yet, for years now, a shortage of qualified workers at all levels has continued to grow. We thought the industry would be upended by millennials, then Gen Z…then the coronavirus pandemic hit. Traditional office settings have turned into a hybrid of remote home office and in-office work. Equity and mental health are key areas where companies have much work to do better. Office footprints continue to shrink. Join our panel of experts as they discuss how they are keeping equity at the forefront and look to rebuild our workforce and turn culture shock into success. Moderator Dr. Beverly Scott (confirmed) Panelists Miguel Cabral (confirmed) Dr. Angelo Farooq (confirmed) Ashlie Grundy (confirmed) Louis Ontiveros (confirmed) Toni Tinoco (confirmed) PM 3: Are We There Yet? Getting to Zero Emissions Sponsored by Anser Advisory Magic Kingdom 3 The road to zero emissions has been long and still longer to go. How do we get the millions who live and work in Southern California to a carbon neutral future by 2045? From the Governor’s Executive Order (N-79-20), existing infrastructure use, timelines to switch to all electric fleets and funding sources – the challenges are numerous. Yet most agree the clear need for sustainability, combating climate change and protecting the health of our communities. Please join our expert group of speakers as they provide the facts and roadmap for clean mobility in Southern California. Moderator Paul Granillo (confirmed) Panelists Jennifer L.
