AM 1: Chairs’ Roundtable: Challenge of Change Magic Kingdom 1 Sponsored by PQM, Inc. We are living in a time in history that will be remembered for generations to come. Three years ago, the world endured one of its greatest challenges, a global pandemic that claimed millions of lives…followed by supply change impacts that affected our ability to purchase even the most common household necessities, a world-wide cultural change in how we do business, and a transformation in how we address and come to terms with equity. The impacts to mobility were also seen around the world and locally here in our communities. How we approach infrastructure development and mobility solutions is now more important than ever before. Join us as the Chairs of our transportation agencies convene to discuss their vision and direction for moving people and goods safely, equitably and sustainably in this incredible time of change and challenge. Moderator Panelists Hon. Mike Goodsell (confirmed) Hon. Gene Hernandez (confirmed) Hon. Matt LaVere (confirmed) Hon. Dawn Rowe (confirmed) Hon. Lloyd White (confirmed) AM 2: Building a Safer, Resilient California Magic Kingdom 2 Sponsored by Mark Thomas How do we build a safer, more resilient California? With traffic fatalities on the rise coupled with extreme weather events and ever-increasing disasters, these top challenges for our state are at the forefront of everyone’s minds. The solutions, and innovations to safeguard our communities throughout our vast geography must come from our public and private sector leadership. Join us as this distinguished panel of leaders and experts discuss how they will leverage our resources and innovations to plan and engineer safety and resiliency into our transportation system, and build a safer and more resilient California for generations to come. Moderator Panelists Lee Ann Eager (confirmed) Hon. Lisa Middleton (confirmed) Jake Nelson (confirmed) Toks Omishakin (confirmed) AM 3: Next 100 Years of Transit Magic Kingdom 3 Sponsored by Stantec Consulting Services Inc. In the past 100 years, transit has evolved from the very first streetcars and bus lines serving our local communities to modern commuter trains spanning hundreds of miles of routes throughout Southern California. Commuting over 25 miles, let alone 100 miles for a job was unimaginable. Fast forward to the present day, our transit systems serve an exponentially larger workforce and people traveling across multiple counties as they scroll through the news or send emails from their smart devices. With the storm of AI and ever newer technologies on the verge of breakthrough, how is transit making the leap to lay the groundwork for our future? Join our expert panel of transportation leaders as they prepare for an innovative, safe and convenient transit system that will help us break up with our personal vehicles and get ready for the next 100 years of transit. Moderator Panelists Johnny Dunning Jr. (confirmed) Darren Kettle (confirmed) Kristin Warsinski (confirmed) AM 4: Geopolitics to Local Politics: Goods Movement SoCal Magic Kingdom 4 Sponsored by Port of Long Beach From the Russian/Ukraine war’s impact on trade to fierce competition from our east coast ports, Southern California’s maritime industry, goods movement and supply chains are an integral part of our transportation system and key contributor to the economic vitality of Southern California and our state. How are we adapting and implementing those lessons learned three years out of that crisis? Contractors deliver the final built product of some of the most significant transportation projects in our region. Their labor brings years of planning and design to tangible fruition. However, challenges continue to beset the Owner and contractor relationship, including workforce availability, supply chain issues, inflation and more.
